It’s been two and a half months, but I’ve finally managed to take some time to go through our New York photos and have picked a few to share with you! Adam and I went away for a week, without Clementine, and it was a great trip to just spend time with one another. It was also very special for us to be able to stay in the Wythe Hotel again, since we stayed there for a couple nights at the beginning of our honeymoon! I guess technically we were on a babymoon…
The week was super enjoyable, and we went out and saw a lot of things, but it was also bit rough for me. My all-day nausea hit two days before we left, so the plane rides were not fun at all, and eating was difficult at times too. Traveling while seven weeks pregnant was not the best idea, but I was so excited to be in New York with my husband that I managed to mostly push it aside and focus on the beautiful, busy, and bustling city we were in.
New York has always had a special place in my heart. There’s something about it that really makes me want to pack up my belongings and move there. Maybe it’s the uniqueness the many neighbourhoods, the variety of places to visit and eat, the artsy aspect of it, or maybe it just seems magical because of all I imagine it could be if we lived there. Either way, I am looking forward to going back at some point in my life! And hopefully staying at the Wythe Hotel again.
We went on a little walk one evening to find where we could get close to the water and watch the gorgeous sunset over Manhattan. It so happens there was this beautiful park right behind our hotel practically, which was perfect!
We filled our days with walking around neighbourhoods we wanted to see, planned out places we wanted to go, and made sure to stop at some pre-researched eats. I’m usually the type who prefers a more go-with-the-flow type holiday, not planning much and just seeing what we stumble upon. But we found from being in New York before that it doesn’t work out so well. You learn about places you wished you would have visited too late, and feel lost along the way. This time we planned! We made dinner reservations, planned out our days well enough that we would be busy but not so we would feel too rushed, googled places, got some great recommendations from family and friends, and took some time to just roam about. It was amazing! I must say, looking back on these photos now makes me wish we could do it all over again, but I’m so grateful for the opportunity we had, and for the wonderful people who watched Clementine while we were away. Im pretty sure she’s ready for us to go away again so she can spend another week at her Oma’s and Opa’s house!
