Thrifting, searching for unique and interesting finds, has always been an interest of mine. Growing up my family went to a local thrift store often, whether to visit my Grandma who has worked there longer than my lifespan, or to look around. It’s always been a part of our lives. I was shamed in school for wearing “used” items a lot, but I never cared. I always thought the idea of finding something unique, something that no one else would have, and being able to reuse and reduce waste was a great idea. My Grandma would bring home treasures for us, usually clothing, and it was always so fun to see what she would find! Now I get to go and look through thrift and vintage stores for myself, find interesting items to wear, to decorate our home with, and now for Clementine to wear! I usually take Clementine with me too, she loves to take in all of the people and things in the stores, and I hope we can make these shopping trips a fun adventure for us two for a long time.
I’ve also purchased vintage items online from some really cool stores, such as Boheme Goods, and I always thought it was so cool, so brave, to sell these gems you found and share them with others. I’ve thought about starting my own online business before, but I was just never brave enough to do so. I have finally taken the plunge! I’ve started my own online shop on Etsy, Objects & Goods Co., and I am so excited to share it with you all! Figuring out the business part of it has been a bit more lengthy than I thought, getting those taxes and other details nailed down, but it’s now complete and I have items online to purchase!
It’s a nerve racking thing, opening up your own store, putting your heart and soul into something that could potentially not be the least bit successful. But I am excited, and so ready.
I’m always up for hearing feedback on what people are looking for, and what items I should be on the hunt for! So please, if you have any ideas, comment or shoot me an email! I’d love to hear from you. Happy shopping!
