I’ve never been that good at taking care of my skin. But now that my skin has gotten more dry and acne has been happening a bit more often than normal, I decided it was finally time to take initiative and make it happen. I usually wash my face with organic soap and then moisturize with coconut oil so it was a pretty big step and I had to do some research before buying products. How are there so many different products for your face out there?!
The first thing I start off with is Aloe Gentle Exfoliator from the Body Shop. It’s gentle for my sensitive skin but still helps get rid of those dead cells and super dry areas! Aloe is also really great for your skin since it is actually a natural moisturizer and has many gentle healing properties which means I can use it more than once per week. (Interesting fact : if you get breakouts, you can use the gel from inside an aloe plant on your pimples and it’ll dry that pimple right on out without having to put that Salicylic Acid on your face!)
Next I use the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash from the Body Shop because of the acne that’s been popping up lately. It’s also gentle, which again is great for my sensitive skin. And I like the tingly feeling from it!
After the cleanser, I use the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist by Eminence. This toner is super easy to use because you just spray it directly onto your face, which I really like. So much easier to use. It helps heal irritation, reduces pigmentation, increases your skins hydration level, and it feels incredibly refreshing. This is by far the best toner I’ve used yet.
Next up, facial serum! I’ve been using two different kinds at the moment since I bought one before I switched over to mostly Eminence products. I was using Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum by Vichy which I’m actually a pretty big fan of. It doesn’t have a sticky feeling after applied, leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and my face doesn’t look greasy afterwards. But I decided to purchase the Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum by Eminence because it’s more natural and still really great for dehydrated skin. It also has many repairing benefits. I’m not 100% sure if I’m sold on this exact serum yet, I find it tends to feel a bit sticky on my hands and face, but I’m going to finish it and see how it goes! And probably use Vichy one in the morning and the Eminence one in the evening to switch it up.
Then there is the moisturizer. I’ve been using the Apricot Whip Moisturizer by Eminence because of all of the vitamins in it as well as age-defying properties which I figured aren’t a bad thing to start on since having kids can do some crazy things to your skin. I’m also not 100% sold on this one yet because of how it also feels a bit sticky but I’m going to finish it and see if maybe it’s just because of how dry my skin is currently.
And to finish it all off I use Coconut Oil on top of the moisturizer because it’s a great replacement for eye cream and gives your skin a wonderful glow! It’s also great under makeup to get a more dewy look.
I’ll use all of the products in the morning, minus the scrub which I use about twice a week. And at nighttime I use the cleanser, toner, serum and coconut oil.
