Okay so their actual anniversary date was March 3rd, but when you live in a place like Winnipeg it is a little bit difficult to have a schload of people over for a party. Why you ask? Winnipeg winters are cold, people. Like put on ten layers of clothing and you are still chilled to the bones. So then why not just put everyone in your house you ask? Well normally you could. But my parents have too many friends (which really is not an issue), our family is big, and our house, although not tiny, is not that big. So they opted to wait to party it up until this past saturday.
The entire morning there was a huge thunderstorm going on, but then an hour before party time it subsided, the grass dried up, and we had beautiful weather for pretty much the whole evening! Everyone was able to sit outside, which was perfect.
I am extremely grateful to have such extraordinary parents. They are such incredible role models, and I feel very lucky to have grown up in a house where I was shown what a strong marriage looks like, what it looks like to go through tough times and get stronger from them not torn down by them, what it looks like to stand firm in God and put your faith in him.
It was wonderful to have this opportunity to celebrate two wonderful people!
My Auntie Judy and Uncle Neil fried all of the fish, which was delicious! I took tons of pictures of them doing there thing, so watch out for that below. They did an amazing job. My dad barbecued pork loin, which he always does a great job at. And many family members helped out as well! We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to celebrate and guests to celebrate with.
